Introduction

 

 People to People International's mission is to enhance international understanding and friendship through educational, cultural and humanitarian activities involving the exchange of ideas and experiences directly among people of different countries and diverse cultures.

 People to People International (PTPI) was established on September 11, 1956, by President Dwight D. Eisenhower, as part of the U.S. Information Agency. After President Eisenhower left the office of President in 1961, he arranged to have the organization privatized as a nongovernmental organization and arranged for People to People to become a not-for-profit Missouri corporation now known as People to People International.

   “People-to-People Republic of China, PTP ROC” was established in 1971. During the past decade, People to People, ROC has organized local chapters in Kaohsiung, Tainan and Taichung, and with headquarters in Taipei.

     Enhance students’ international focus of our university and educate leaders of people foreign affair in the future. With Dr. Chuan Lee’s (the President of the Board of Directors of PTPI ROC and the CEO of the Executive Committee of the 11th PTPI Worldwide Conference) support and advised we established: MCU PTPI Student Chapter, holding various culture exchange activities, visiting trips and published PTPI Newsletter, hopes people with the same goal can join with us together and strive for activities with international students and our country's development of diplomacy affairs.
